Bali National Golf Club

A Robin Nelson and Rodney Wright designed Hawaiian-styled golf course, Bali National Golf Club re-opened in 2013 after undergoing extensive renovations. Being located at the southern tip of the island puts Bali National near many of the top hotels. It is only a short 15-minute drive by new 4-lane tollway from the Bali International Airport.

The Bali golf course now features new Paspalum turf, with scalloped bunkering lining most fairways and elevated greens. Many of the newly routed holes have lengthened to championship distances as the course now plays to over 7100 yards from the tips.

In its previous incarnation, Bali Nation hosted the 1994 Asian Dunhill Masters where Nick Faldo shot the course record 63, and in 1997 the Bali golf club was voted one of Asia's top 5 golf courses by Fortune Magazine.

Handara Golf & Resort Bali

Handara Golf & Resort Bali must be one of the most astonishing golf courses on Bali if not around all of South East Asia. The Bali golf course is set in the lush highlands of Bali and nestled in the crater of a volcano in the mountains of Bedugul; a 2-hour drive from Nusa Dua and 1 hour from Ubud.
The long journey is worth it. From the low coastal regions, the road to the golf course winds around traditional Balinese villages, rice paddies and ascends towards the volcanic mountains. The entrance to the Bali Handara Golf & Country Club Resort is just past the Lake Bedugul.

New Kuta Golf

Located on Bali's southern shore in the Pecatu compound at Dreamland Beach is one of Bali's most spectacular golf courses, New Kuta Golf. Carved out of harsh limestone between the brilliant white cliffs and the blue waters of the Indian Ocean, New Kuta Golf ranks among Asia's most spectacular.

New Kuta was awarded as the Best New International Course by Links Magazine 2008 and 10th Best Course in Indonesia by Golf Digest in 2009. That same year the Asian Tour Indonesian Open was held at New Kuta.
The Bali New Kuta golf course surrounds breathtaking sea views with waves crashing at the base of many holes. Rolling links-style fairways, a semi-rough of natural grasses and sand, and undulating greens combined with various tee-boxes challenge players from beginners to professionals.

Laguna Golf Bintan

Laguna Golf Bintan set on 60-hectares on the shores of the Straits of Singapore. Initially designed by Greg Norman, the Bintan golf was brought up to modern standards in 2016 by Paul Jensen.

All 18 green complexes revised, and bunkers have been reduced in number and better positioned to more strategic locations. Also, low maintenance features such as grass depressions, fairway tiers, and mounds have been added to enhance the playing strategy and shot variety. Wider fairways not only benefit average golfers but also open up new possibilities for serious golfers looking for birdie opportunities. However, accurate approach play is required to score well and avoid the longish grass found on most holes.

The Laguna Bintan layout, comprising two out-and-back 9-hole loops, is more undulating on the front-nine, flatter on the back, and contains some memorable holes. The golf course starts with unique sea views on the 2nd to 4th holes, then wraps around a series of lagoons on holes 6 to 8. The 9th is another challenging hole as it plays long and uphill back towards the clubhouse.

Ria Bintan Golf Club

Ria Bintan Golf Club is a 27-hole championship golf course designed by Gary Player. The 18-hole Ocean Course and the first nine holes of the 18-hole Forest Course opened for play in October 1998 and December 2000, respectively.

The Ocean golf course at Ria Bintan offers two distinct playing atmospheres. The course cuts through the native jungle of Riau, where you are more likely to come upon monkeys, small deer, or wild boar than other humans. It also has its seaside holes, and it's these holes will be best remembered by visiting golfers. At the par-five 7th (voted best par 5 in Asia), the sea revealed to the golfer halfway down the fairway. From here, you get closer to the sea via the short dogleg 8th and then play along with it at the par-three 9th. This famous hole, photographed extensively, is a must-play hole requiring a medium iron played over the beach to an archipelago green. The last view of the sea is the par-four 10th, where the beach parallels the fairway.

Bandung Indah Golf & Country Club

Bandung Indah Golf & Country Club location in a beautiful environment surrounded by artificial hills and a lot of water makes it ideal for top golfing. The course opened in 1994 and presents beautiful views of artificial hills, cool air and water obstacles that are quite difficult for golfers of all levels. Bandung Indah designed by Michael Coates & Associates from Australia stretches around 6,400 meters.
Playing Bandung Indah course is a surprise due to the earth mounding, undulations, water hazards, and strategically placed fairway and greenside bunkers.
The rather long par-5 holes (hole #14 of 500 meters, and hole #17 of 516 meters) in combination with the often blowing wind, makes playing this course surprisingly attractive. The Bandung Indah golf course has a hilly layout with several fairways and green bunkers that look like beaches.
